”I have been working with glass beads as a medium since 2003, after a family trip to Italy inspired me to re-interpret the traditional mosaics I saw there into a fun, contemporary new style. Over the years, my mosaic style evolved from an unexpected texture and surreal re-interpretation into a spiritual metaphor: I often have to place each bead individually, so each one can be seen as a captured moment in time. Alternatively, I see the beads as individual cells of the organism ( whether the organism is the plant depicted or the painting itself.)
